Manager, Curation

Berlin, Germany Full-time

Beatport is looking for a Curation Manager to lead the team of tastemakers that program the content across all Beatport platforms. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, leadership and effective communication skills, a proven track record of high performance in a similar role and successful commercial thinking, excellent analytical, numerical and problem solving skills and experience of successfully leading change to deliver improved business performance

This role is based in Berlin, Germany.

Some of the typical job responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the Curation function on all Beatport branded sites
  • Beatport is a digital record store. Therefore, you will have to support the business to meet its users’ and customers’ needs, assist in driving sales whilst maximizing overall profitability
  • The electronic dance music scene is constantly evolving and changing. As the leader of the Curation team you will keep yourself constantly informed of the latest music trends so you can suggest new genre pages on the Beatport website
  • Provide analysis and insight into the performance of the business in particular in respect of sales & distribution channels, customers, range designs, products and categories
  • Improve the use of data analytical tools across the business and act as a mentor and role model for the efficient production of insightful management information i.e. identify key trends and issues
  • Use data from analytics to monitor conversion factors of new customers and users
  • Manage the team of Curators in multiple locations, developing and implementing best practice curation methodologies
  • Develop KPI’s so the team can work towards a quantifiable level of excellence
  • Lead a change culture whilst coaching, motivating and developing your team to deliver continuous improvement
  • Work with Marketing on their campaign creation and schedule
  • Work with Label Management and Artist Relations on priority content
  • Assist in implementing new workflows and processes to achieve company goals

 

Some of the Requirements 

  • At least 4 years experience in the industry, ideally in retail, marketing or promotions 
  • A broad range of music knowledge, as well as an extensive background within the music industry
  • A specialist knowledge within dance music, electronic music, and DJ culture. Being able to manage one or two genres page on the website is a plus
  • Must have organization, project management and administrative skills
  • Must be able to use Excel and know how to interpret statistical data, generate reports, and charts
  • Excellent spoken and written English
